This was my first go at creating my own front cover for a magazine already in existence. I had the choice to choose between many different types of magazines, but in the end I decided on the NME because I thought it would be easier to get a picture of a young trendy model of which could reflect and match the ethos of the magazine. The main image of the girl on the front, a picture of which I took, is supposed to reflect the young trendy audience of which the NME is suited for, thus matching its ethos. I've photographed the model posing as such as it shows her style and glamour of which she posses being a indie rock break through act. The main cover-line highlights who this girl is and immediately shows of her relevance for her being on the front of the magazine. The colour is consistent creating a cohesive tidy look for the magazines cover. I decided on making the puff at the top of the cover red because if it was on a shelf behind another magazine, the browser would be able to spot that there is an exclusive within the magazine thus drawing them to it. Within in the puff is a superlative, elevating the story in terms of content. I used another superlative in the pug as it reads the word "Exclusive". On the left hand side of the magazine i've placed a puff telling of the sex pistols front man John Lydon. I've implemented a pun by changing the word better to butter, as he starred in a butter advert hence relating to him as a sell out. At the bottom of the page i have included an article which reveals nominees for an award ceremony. This is just to entice the reader. I've spread out my magazine in a very conventional way. Everything is aligned to the left as it's very conventional and people are used to it and so that the main image can have the right to itself emphasizing its importance.
